misszoot.com survey

1. Do your kids know about your blog? If they're too young to know, do you plan to keep it open to them as they get older?
My daughter is 7 months. As of right now, what I write is not that embarrassing. I will let them read it.

2a. If so - do you worry they may get embarrassed later? What would you do if they asked you to stop writing about them? What would you do if they wanted you to take it down all together? If they asked me to stop writing about them I would respect their request. I don't think I would take it down all together but I would change what I wrote down if needed.

2b. If not, what are you doing to make sure they never find it? What if they do find it? I don't think I could handle keeping it a secret. I don't feel the need to make a big deal out of having a blog. It is what it is and I pretty careful with what type of information I include.

3. Do you think our kids will appreciate the archive of their childhood? Do you wish your parents had done the same? I hope they do appreciate it. My dad writes a Christmas letter each year that includes short bits about each child and that is kind of like archiving our childhood. I enjoy reading those letters.

4. Do you go back and re-read your past parenting milestones? Do you realize you forgot a lot? I enjoy reading what I wrote and looking at pictures from various milestones. Reflecting on such occasion is good for me to see how I have grown or stayed the same.  Motherhood sometimes makes the brain mushy and so, yea, I have forgot some things.

5. What about your children's friends/teachers/moms-of-friends? What if they found your blog? Do you tell your child not to tell anyone about it or are they free to talk about it? Do you worry their teachers or other parents will think it's weird?
I do worry about who will read my blog within my inner circle. I don't let any of my family (parents, brothers, and cousins etc) read my blog. I don't tell people I work with about my blog. I don't tell other parents that I have met within the past couple years about my blog. Mainly, I keep it to friends that I have known for a long time, people I trust, or other bloggers.
